5G Services will take our education system to a new level: Haryana Chief Secretary


Chandigarh: Looking forward to successfully implement 5G telecom services across Haryana, Chief Secretary, Sanjeev Kaushal today directed the concerned officers to expedite and complete the work of massive deployment of telecom infrastructure, including 5G small cells and aerial Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) in the time bound manner while reviewing the status of 5G initiative.
Kaushal urged the officers to launch awareness campaigns in rural areas on how 5G services can improve their lives. He said that the successful implementation of 5G technology in the state will revamp the entire architecture of the internet which will lead the state towards digitization.
While presiding over a meeting regarding effective implementation of the working group on “Cross Sector Collaborative Regulation between Telecom Regulators and Electricity Regulators” for rollout of 5G Services here today, he directed the officers to expedite the work of identification of Government buildings, land for the installation of towers and poles in the state.
He further directed the concerned officers to ensure coordination with the telecom regulators. He was apprised in the meeting that the poles, sites, and towers for utilization by the telecom industry and in turn the telecom Industry can help the power sector with a smart grid, efficient distribution network, and advanced metering infrastructure.
Kaushal said that besides providing advanced telecom services to the people of the state, the 5G service telecom services will go beyond smart facilities, smart classrooms and well as smart teachings. It will take our education system to a new level.
In the meeting various important points were discussed including Amendment in CCIP (Communication and Connectivity Infrastructure) policy in line with Central ROW Rules. Identification of Street furniture along with the details like Latitude, longitude type, address, etc and mapping the details on the NMP Portal so that details are visible to the Telecom Service Providers by each department. Besides this, provision in the State Portal for making the bulk application for the use of Street Furniture. It was apprised that many organizations have laid their optical fibers the same should be shared for the 5G rollout.
