Aamir Khan had turned down Gulshan Kumar’s biopic ‘Mogul’ two years ago | Hindi Movie News

Aamir Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ had met with a dismal fate at the box office. And this was rumoured to have affected the actor’s other project. Aamir Khan had signed up for ‘Mogul’, a biopic on late Gulshan Kumar, but a recent report suggested that the movie had been shelved due to the failure of ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.

However, clarifying on the same, a source close to the actor revealed, “The decision of not doing ‘Mogul’ was taken by Aamir Khan 2 years back and it has nothing to do with Laal Singh Chadha. Contrary to the rumors, this is not a recent decision”. Interestingly, before Aamir Khan was associated with this project, Akshay Kumar was to play the titular role in ‘Mogul’. The film was announced in 2017 but due to alleged differences, Akshay Kumar walked out of the project.

Post ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, Aamir Khan will be reportedly working on the Hindi remake of Spanish film ‘Campeones’. This film will be reportedly helmed by ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ director RS Prasanna and will feature Anushka Sharma as the leading lady.
