Aeroplanes Will Be Manufactured In Gujarat Soon, Spare Parts Will Be Made In Rajkot: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said aeroplanes would soon be manufactured in Gujarat and their spare parts in Rajkot, PTI reported. Addressing a gathering in Rajkot after launching projects worth Rs 7,710 crore, PM Modi also targetted the Opposition for ignoring the condition of slum dwellers.

“Aeroplanes will be manufactured in Gujarat soon and their spare parts will be made in Rajkot,” PM Modi said.

In an indirect dig at the Congress, PM Modi said, “They came into politics and built big houses for themselves, but never thought of improving slum-dwellers’ condition. I have taken up work of building houses for poor.”

In Rajkot, PM Modi laid foundation stones of the Rs 500-crore proposed milk processing plant of Amul, a medical college in Morbi and for the widening of the Rajkot-Jetpur section of the National Highway 27 from the existing four-lanes to six lanes.

He also inaugurated three flyover bridges in Rajkot city and dedicated 1,144 residences under the affordable housing scheme constructed by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) at Rs 118 crore under the Light House Project initiative of the Central government. He also inaugurated a regional science centre constructed by the state government at Rs 85 crore near Madhapar village.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth around Rs 3,580 crore in Junagadh.

Addressing a gathering in Junagadh in Saurashtra region, PM Modi urged the people of Gujarat to “teach a lesson” to those who constantly abuse and insult the state as well its citizens.

He said some political parties think their work is incomplete if they do not abuse Gujarat and Gujaratis.

“Time has come to teach a lesson to those who abuse and insult Gujarat and its people day and night. Should we forgive those who tarnish Gujarat’s image?” Modi said.
