Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party on Friday yet again held a march against the Yogi Adityanath government in Lucknow, days after a massive showdown with the cops. The party said the protest was held after answers were not given – in the assembly – on various issues, including women’s safety, inflation and farmers’ issues.
A short clip shared by the SP showed Akilesh Yadav saying in the assembly: “We have not got any satisfactory answers from this government on various issues, including unemployment. Health facilities are still in shambles. So, the Samajwadi Party is staging a walkout from the assembly.”
The party “will continue its constant struggle from the assembly to the roads,” the SP later said in a tweet. “The SP did a walkout from the assembly after not getting answers to the questions from the government regarding the problem of inflation, women’s harassment, farmers etc. Under the leadership of the Honorable National President, the SP MLAs marched on foot from the House to the SP office,” the post in Hindi read.
