Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 5 Live Updates: Lifter Punam Yadavs 76kg Final Next, Lawn Bowls Going On

Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 5 Live Updates: After a good fourth day, India will eye history as they chase a lawn bowls gold in the women’s fours event on the fifth day. They will face South Africa in the final. Also, weightlifter Punam Yadav will be in action in India’s first medal event of the day. India will aim to increase their gold medal tally as the Indian men’s badminton team faces Malaysia in the Mixed Team final in the evening. Also, the men’s table tennis team will face Singapore in the gold medal match. In squash, Saurav Ghosal will face New Zealand’s Paul Coll in the men’s singles semi-final. In artistic gymnastics, Satyajit Mondal will play in the men’s vault final and Saif Sadak Tamboli will be in action in the parallel bars finals. 

Also, in action will be weightlifters Vikas Thakur (Men’s 96 kg) and Usha Bannaur NK (women’s 87 kg). In hockey, India will play England in a women’s Pool A. In boxing, Rohit Tokas will play his welterweight round of 16. In swimming, Srihari Nataraj will hope to reach the final of the men’s 200m backstroke.

India have so far won three gold, three silver and bronze medals.

    While India entered the final of the women’s fours lawn bowls event on Monday, the historic feat followed silver and bronze medals from judokas Shushila Devi Likmabam and Vijay Kumar Yadav, respectively. On the other hand, Harjinder Kaur won a bronze in women’s 71 kg weightlifting.
