NEW DELHI: The third phase of the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG) will commence from August 17 as scheduled and admit cards will be issued on August 13.
An August 7 circular issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) stated that the August 4, 5 and 6 exams were cancelled due to technical problems and that they will now be held from August 24-28. Some candidates have been left confused as many of their admit cards are showing August 12, 13 or 14 as their exams dates though there are no tests scheduled during this period. These candidates’ admit cards however do not contain details of exam centre.
The first three days of the second phase of the exams were plagued by technical glitches due to which exams in around 60 centres, including the entire second slot of August 4, were postponed to August 12-14. However, on August 7, the NTA stated that these exams will now be conducted from August 24-28.
According to a senior NTA official, “All exams hit by technical issues on the first three days are to be schedule from August 24-28. There could be some candidates who have the admit cards mentioning August 12, 13 or 14. However, there are no exams during this period and the candidates will be issued fresh admit cards closer to the date of the exam.”
There is another set of candidates whose exams didn’t take place on August 7, 8 and 10 after the NTA cancelled the exam in around 50-odd centres. These candidates will write their test on August 21, 22 or 23.
“Admit cards for candidates writing the exams from August 20 will be issued three days before the date. However, candidates will get information about their date, time and city well in advance — on August 14,” said the official.
“There are changes for the third phase of exams starting from August 17 to August 20 and aspirants will get their admit cards on August 13,” added the official.
To address the concerns of the candidates NTA will also issue a fresh set of FAQs.
