Darsheel Safary shares Aamir Khan was a “father figure” to him, reveals that he was nevertheless scared of the actor | Hindi Movie News

Darsheel Safary was only nine when he played the heartwarming character of Ishaan Awasthi in Taare Zameen Par. Giving one of the most nuanced performance by any child actor, Darsheel became an overnight sensation, with many hoping to see him at the movies again, soon. However, apart from some minor roles here and there, Darsheel chose to concentrate on his studies and enjoy his college life, before making a comeback to the movies.

In a recent interview to Quint Neon, Darsheel recalled his Taare Zameen Par days and said that he was occasionally scared of his co-star and co-director Aamir Khan on the sets. Elaborating further, the now 25-year-old said that he knew that if he ever steps out of line, he would be scolded, but that moment never came. He also reminisced about playing Cricket with Aamir at his house with the latter specially preparing Jain food for him, given his preference. Darsheel also added that he has only warm memories of his time spent on the sets of the movie.

Darsheel is all set to make a comeback on the OTT space with a short film “Capital A small a” which will release on Amazon miniTV. The teenage love story will also star Revathi Pillai opposite Darsheel.
