Captain Rohit Sharma was involved in a hilarious conversation with wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant during the first over of India’s innings when the men in blue met England in the second T20I of the three-match series at Edgbaston on Saturday.
The incident happened when Pant came out to open with Rohit after Ishan Kishan was dropped for the second T20I. In the first over itself, Pant got off the mark with a risky shot. Pant just managed to avoid getting run out, as he nudged the ball towards silly mid-off and ran to complete the single, but the bowler David Willey came in his way.
After completing the run, Pant was caught on stump mic asking his captain: “Yeh saamne aa gaya yaar, saamne aa gaya” (he came in front of me while running).

“Takkar maar du kya?” (Should I hit him, if he comes in the way).
“Maarde aur kya,” (Yes hit him what else) replied Rohit Sharma.
Meanwhile, India outclassed England by 49 runs in the second T20I at Edgbaston on Saturday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Bhuvneshwar (3/15) rocked England early in their pursuit of 171, removing Jason Roy with the first ball and then his fellow opener and England captain Jos Buttler, before Yuzvendra Chahal (2/10) chipped in with two wickets to leave the home side struggling on 55/5.
Moeen Ali (35) and David Willey (33) kept England afloat with entertaining cameos but a flurry of wickets meant that they were bowled out for 121 in 17 overs.
