New Delhi: In view of heavy rainfall prediction on Friday, Gurugram District Disaster Management Authority has issued an advisory urging all corporate offices and private institutions to guide their employees to work from home in a bid to avoid traffic snarls and also allow civic agencies to carry out the repair work of roads. All private educational institutions have also been asked to remain closed in larger public interest.

According to a report by news agency PTI, an official order has been issued asking all government and private schools till class 8 across Noida and Greater Noida in Gautam Buddh Nagar to remain closed on Friday due to rain alert.

Meanwhile, commuters travelling from Manesar to Gurugram on Wednesday witnessed heavy traffic congestion, after a vehicle broke down on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway.

The traffic police had issued an advisory about the situation on Twitter and put up sign boards for route diversion.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (traffic) R S Sangwan said, “There was traffic congestion owing to the breakdown of a vehicle only. Our teams are at spot to manage the traffic and now the situation is under control.”
