Haryana: Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi Resigns From Party, Set To Join BJP Tomorrow

New Delhi: Congress MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi reached the Haryana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday to meet with Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta and submitted his resignation as the party legislator sources told ABP News. MLA from Haryana’s Adampur seat, Bishnoi will be joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party after quitting the Congress. As per sources, Bishnoi, who had already met with Union Minister Amit Shah, will join the saffron party tomorrow, August 4 at 10 am.

Bishnoi alleged that the Congress party “has deviated from its ideology” after he resigned from the party. “Congress has deviated from its ideology, it’s no longer what it was during Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi’s time,” he said.

The four-time MLA and two-time MP had been upset over being ignored by the party and not being picked up as the chief of state Congress. He was expelled from the party positions by the Congress soon after he cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls in June.

For the younger son of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal, it will be the second parting with the Congress, nearly six years after he had returned to the fold.

Bishnoi, 53, had held a meeting with his supporters at Adampur Tuesday evening and and sought suggestions from them on joining the BJP, which was supported by all by raising their hands following which he told them that the time had come to end the long exile. ” “Before a new political journey, I reached out to my loved ones and discussed in detail, and as always got a lot of love and support, for which I will always be grateful to the people of Adampur,” he tweeeted the same day.
