Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy tested Covid positive on Monday. He had met NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and others yesterday.

“Following symptoms of light fever and body pain, I underwent a Covid test. The results have come positive. Doctors have advice me for home isolation and treatment,” Kumaraswamy said in a tweet.

“As per the doctor’s advice, I will undergo treatment at home for the next 10 days. I appeal all not to visit me. Please do not mean it otherwise. I also request those who came in contact with me in the 3-4 days to get tested for Covid without fail,” he added.

Droupadi Murmu on Sunday met former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and sought the JD(S) support for the presidential election on July 18.

She was accompanied by Karnataka CM Bommai, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and BJP national general secretary C T Ravi during the meeting with Gowda. His son HD Kumaraswamy, who tested Covid positive today, was also present.

She had in the past spoken to Gowda and sought his well-wishes in the presidential election and HD Kumaraswamy had indicated the party’s support to her.
