Tension prevailed at Gymkhana Grounds in Hyderabad on Thursday as thousands of cricket fans gathered to buy tickets for the 3rd T20I between India and Australia, which is slated for Sunday (September 25), at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. To disperse the huge crowd, police lathi charge the fans and four persons were injured.
Hyderabad cricket association has started ticket sales on Thursday with the much-awaited 3rd T20I match around the corner. Police used mild force to control the crowd but a stampede-like situation occurred when crowd tried to disperse. A woman was injured and shifted to a nearby hospital in Hyderabad for treatment. Even police were injured.
Hyderabad police blame Hyderabad Cricket Association for no proper arrangements made. Minimum facilities like water are also not provided at counters, said police. All injured persons are shifted to a nearby hospital. To continue the ticket sale in smooth way, number of ticket counters will be increased.

Some of the fans were also injured and even a policeman was injured in the act. The fans have been in the queue to buy India vs Australia 3rd T20I tickets from around 5 AM in the morning. Cricket fans in Hyderabad have been waiting for an international match for long as its been almost three years since the last match on December 6, 2019 was held.
Earlier in the day, Telangana Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud warned of stern action to the taken against those selling the tickets in black market.
