India Independence Day 2022: This year’s Independence Day is special because India is celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ a Government of India initiative to honour and celebrate 75 years of India’s independence and the magnificent history of its culture, people, and accomplishments.

Free Entry To ASI Monuments: As part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign and the country’s 75 years of Independence festivities, all monuments safeguarded by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) are open to the public for free from today (August 5) till August 15. G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister for Culture and Tourism made the announcement ahead of Independence Day 2022.

Tiranga (Tricolour) — Main Focus: Undoubtedly, Indian National Flag has been the nation’s pride and identity since independence, but this year the emphasis on Tiranga (tricolour) is immense. Our relationship with the flag has always been more formal and institutional than personal. Bringing the flag home (Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan – hoisting Tiranga at our respective homes) ahead of Independence Day thus becomes symbolic of an act of personal connection to the Tiranga and an embodiment of our commitment to nation-building.

Har Ghar Tiranga Anthem: To celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India’s independence and glorious history the Ministry of Culture posted the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ anthem video featuring famous celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Kapil Dev, Virat Kohli, Anupam Kher, and Asha Bhonsle.

Launch of AzadiSAT: To mark the momentous occasion, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch 75 payloads designed and constructed by 750 girl students from throughout India. The payloads, known as AzadiSAT, will travel with the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), set to conduct its maiden mission on August 7.

Assam To Remit Sentences Of 18 Prisoners: In honour of the nation’s 76th Independence Day, known as the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,” the Assam government has decided to commute the sentences of 18 prisoners under certain categories, according to a notification.

Reliance Jio To Announce 5G Services: Earlier this week, Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm, said they will celebrate ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with a pan-India 5G rollout, as per news agency IANS report.
