Apple has released iOS 16.2 with key updates and new features, a little more than a month after it rolled out iOS 16.1.1 with bug fixes. A major highlight of the iOS 16.2 update is 5G network compatibility for eligible iPhone models in India. Earlier in November, iOS 16 beta had given iPhone users in India the ability to experience super-fast next-gen network services on eligible devices.

Earlier in October, Apple had said that the company was working with carrier partners in India to bring the best 5G experience to iPhone users as soon as network validation and testing for quality and performance is completed, after a push from the Indian government to enable 5G services on its devices along with other smartphone makers.
“5G will be enabled via a software update and will start rolling out to iPhone users in December,” Apple had said.
Meanwhile, the new iOS 16.2 update brings Apple’s cross-platform Freeform app, which has been designed for collaboration. The Freeform app can be used for jotting down notes, saving links, sketching and drawing, among other uses.
The new update also brings the karaoke feature called Apple Music Sing with it. The feature is designed for Apple Music subscribers, and it provides real-time lyrics for users of iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, to sing along with. Some of the features of Apple Music Sing include are real-time lyrics that move to the rhythm of the vocals, adjustable vocals for changing the volume of the original singer, background vocal options and a duet view for multi-singer tracks.
The iOS 16.2 update also brings the ability to use Apple’s emergency SOS via satellite service for iPhone 14 in select regions such as the UK, Germany, France and Ireland. Apple had announced this cool safety alongside the iPhone 14 series in September.
