Mahesh Babu’s Children Gautham, Sitara Pay Last Respects To Grandfather

New Delhi: Telugu superstar Krishna passed away on November 15 following a cardiac arrest. Krishna, who was popularly known as Telugu cinema’s first superstar, was the father of actor Mahesh Babu. Hundreds of fans, top political leaders of Telugu states and Tollywood personalities paid their last respects to veteran actor Krishna. 

Mahesh Babu’s children Gautham Ghattamaneni and Sitara Ghattamaneni also paid their last respects to their grandfather Krishna on Wednesday. Sitara and Gautham can be seen walking up to the mortal remains of their grandfather Krishna and placing flowers at his feet, in the video that has surfaced on the internet. 

Sitara also took to Instagram to share a note remembering her grandfather. In her post, Sitara shared a picture with her grandfather and wrote, “Weekday lunch will never be the same again….. You taught me so many valuable things… always made me smile. Now all that’s left is my memory of you. You’re my hero… I hope I can make you proud someday. I’ll miss you so much Thatha garu… (broken heart emoji).” 

Meanwhile, people queued up at Padmalaya Studio to see the superstar for time and pay their last respects. 
Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and leaders cutting across party lines paid their respects to Krishna.

Fans descended to Padmalaya Studio in large numbers to catch the last glimpse of the actor, who acted in about 350 films in a career spanning over five decades. 
Telangana Governor and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister consoled Mahesh Babu, son-in-law and MP Galla Jayadev and other family members. 
Krishna’s last rites will be performed with state honours later in the day at Mahaprasthanam in Jubilee Hills. 
Tamilisai told reporters that Krishna’s service to the film industry will always be remembered. “Looking at the large number of fans who have turned out here, I could see the pulse of people,” she said. 
On Tuesday celebrities like Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Charan and others visited Krishna’s house to pay their tribute. 
Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy or Krishna was born on May 31, 1942, at Burripalem in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. He debuted as the lead actor with the 1965 movie ‘Thene Manasulu’.
