New Delhi: Reliance Foundation Hospital on Monday filed a complaint about receiving calls posing threat to industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his family, said the Mumbai Police, reported news agency ANI and added that a case has been filed and a probe is underway.

“Reliance Foundation Hospital files a complaint about receiving calls posing threat to Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family. More than three calls were received at the hospital. Case being filed, probe underway,” they said.

Speaking to ABP News, Reliance Foundation Hospital CEO, Tarang Gianchandani said, “We have received 8 threat calls, today we are treating the caller as a terrorist, we have informed the police about this and we have also told our security guards.”

“The call was from an unknown person who threatened Mukesh Ambani and family,” she added.

As per a report by news agency PTI, quoting officials, a preliminary enquiry suggested that the caller was mentally unstable.

According to ABP News sources, a team of Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad team and Crime Branch team have reached Mukesh Ambani’s residence, Antilia. At the same time, the police are roaming the streets around his residence in civilian clothes so that if any suspect is seen, they can be interrogated. Apart from this, the police are conducting searches in the entire area.

This is not the first time that the business tycoon has received such a threat. Last year, a suspicious car was found a short distance from Antilia, in which 20 gelatin sticks were recovered. However, it was not assembled. A letter was also found in this car standing outside Antilia, threatening to kill the Ambani family.
