Panchkula youth thrashed with brick, rods for objecting to ‘exorbitant’ beer rate


A 35-year-old man was assaulted with bricks and iron rods for allegedly objecting to ‘exorbitant’ price of beer, Panchkula police said on Wednesday.

Karan of Sector 27 had gone to a liquor vend in Sector 24 with his friend Sunny where they entered into a heated argument with employees over beer price, which turned violent. Sunny escaped unhurt, but Karan sustained injuries in his head.

A case under sections 323, 427 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Chandimandir police station.
