Rare, but beware of THIS ‘flesh-eating’ STI called Donovanosis; know the symptoms

According to WebMD, the most common symptom is slow-growing open lesions, or “ulcers,” directly on the genitals in both men and women.

Interestingly, donovanosis is of four types, which can lead to different types of symptoms. These include:

Ulcerogranulomatous – sores that are beefy-red that become ‘highly vascular’.

Hypertrophic can lead to uneven borders and are typically fully dry.

Necrotic ulcers grow into the skin and can be bad-smelling and painful to touch.

Fibrous ulcers appear as painless scar tissue.
