‘RRR’ and ‘Chhello Show (The Last Film Show)’ shortlisted for the 95th Academy Awards | Hindi Movie News


It’s a moment of excitement for cinema lovers as the shortlists for the 95th Academy Awards have been unveiled by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Shortlists for 10 categories have been announced including documentary and international features, documentary short subject, original score among many.

The good news is that, ‘Chhello Show (The Last Film Show) which was India’s official entry to the Oscars has made it to the ‘International Feature Film’ category. Meanwhile, ‘RRR’ has found a space for itself in the Music (Original Song) category for ‘Naatu Naatu’.

Other films in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category include ‘Argentina 1985’, ‘The Quiet Girl’, ‘The Blue Caftan’ amidst more. What’s interesting is that this is the first time that a film from Pakistan has been shortlisted for the Oscars. ‘Joyland’ is Pakistan’s entry in this category.


As far as ‘RRR’s best song category is concerned, 15 songs have been selected from among 81 tunes. Other songs include ‘Nothing Is Lost’ from ‘Avatar: The way Of Water’, ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Blank Panther: Wakanda Forever’, ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ among others alongside ‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’.

The nomination voting for the Oscars will be held from January 12 to 17. The nomination list will be announced on January 24. The 95th Oscars will take place on March 12 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
