Ruturaj Gaikwad Hit 7 Sixes In One Over Against Uttar Pradesh In Vijay Hazare Trophy Watch Video


New Delhi: Maharashtra opener Rituraj Gaikwad scripted a record after hitting seven sixes in an over – a first in List A cricket – against Uttar Pradesh in a Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final in Ahmedabad. Known for his classic batting, Gaikwad hit a stormy double century against UP in Vijay Hazare’s quarter-final match. Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 220 in 159 balls. Gaikwad also did the miracle of hitting 7 consecutive sixes in one over in his amazing innings.

Gaikwad did the feat of hitting 7 consecutive sixes in the 49th over of Maharashtra’s innings. Gaikwad is the first batsman in the world to hit 7 consecutive sixes in an over. Gaikwad accomplished this feat on the balls of UP’s left-arm spinner Shiva Singh.

First SIX – Gaikwad hit Shiva Singh’s first ball for a six-over long-on. An attempt was made to throw the yorker ball but Rituraj made the ball a half-volley.

Second SIX – Gaikwad hit the second six over the bowler’s head. This time, the six was absolutely flat.

Third SIX – Shiva Singh bowled the third ball a little short which was hit by Gaikwad over midwicket.

Fourth SIX – Gaikwad hit the fourth six over long off. This time too the ball was full and it was outside the off stump. Gaikwad took him across the boundary with good timing.

Fifth SIX – Gaikwad hit the fifth six over long off. This time the ball was a no-ball. Shiva Singh threw the ball ahead of the crease.

Sixth SIX– Gaikwad also hit a six on the free hit. This time he delivered the ball over midwicket for 6 runs. In this way, Gaikwad not only hit 6 sixes in 5 balls but also completed his double century.

Seventh SIX– Gaikwad also hit the 7th six over the midwicket. The seventh and final ball was smashed over deep midwicket.
