Vinay Bihari, a BJP MLA in Bihar, attacked chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday and asked why the projects of constructing a film city and an international cricket stadium were taken to Rajgir. Rajgir is a town located in the chief minister’s home district, Nalanda.

According to Vinay, he wanted an international cricket stadium to be built in the state’s capital city Patna while he was the minister of art and culture, but the project was taken to Rajgir. He also proposed to build a film city in Valmiki Nagar, but that project too was taken up in Rajgir.

Vinay, who is also a Bhojpuri filmmaker said, “I wager Nitish Kumar does not know, as much as I do, about filmmaking. I chose Valmiki Nagar because the temperature there is often pleasant, unlike Rajgir, which has an extreme climate.”

“Only chief minister Nitish Kumar, the arts and culture minister and both the deputy chief ministers from BJP could tell why all the projects are being taken to Rajgir,” said Vinay.

He also hit out at the chief minister over the slow progress of the construction of the film city and the cricket stadium and said that very little progress had been made since the work started in 2014.
